From the Airport to your Hotel

If you are coming by plane, you will arrive at VIE Wien Schwechat Airport, which is located south from Vienna proper. From there, two different trains leave for the city center:

1. The CAT - City Airport Train

Following the train-signs at the airport, you will first arrive at the green platforms for the CAT. You can get a ticket for 13,20€ at the platform. The CAT takes you to “Wien Mitte” (also called “Landstraße” at times). There you can change to the subway U4 heading towards “Heiligenstadt”. We suggest getting a single ticket for the subway there (2,10€). Exit at “Friedensbrücke” to change to the tram number 5 (direction “Westbahnhof”). The stop closest to Hotel Boltzmann is called “Spitalgasse/Währingerstraße”, and is indicated on this map.

2. S7 - Direction Floridsdorf

Tickets for the S7 are available at the red ticket machines on your way to the platforms. Choose “National ticket with selection of destination” and select “Schwechat” for 2,20€. Additionally, you need a single ticket for Vienna’s public transport, which covers your fare all the way to the hotel. It’s available at the same machine and also costs 2,10€. The S7 heading towards “Floridsdorf” stops at “Praterstern”, where you can change to the tram number 5 (heading to “Westbahnhof”). Tram number 5 takes you to “Spitalgasse/Währingerstraße”, which is, again, indicated on this map.

3. Airport Taxi

Another way of getting to your hotel, of course, is taking one of the many taxis waiting directly in front of the airport. You can expect to be charged 30-40€ for the ride.
